An independent school of the arts and sciences

PEREGRINE ELEMENTARY OPENS THIS FALL

Peregrine School is launching its elementary school this fall! We will open a first and second grade. Led by an experienced teacher well-versed in project based learning, reading and math methods, and art education, Peregrine's first and second grade class will be a highly enriched, fun and wonderful place for children to learn. From 9-3 each day the children will have small groups in reading, math, science and Spanish. They will do long term projects weaving together all the subjects using art and science as the foundation. They will go on many field trips and enjoy specialty classes in dance, music, yoga and Mandarin. Nutritious hot lunches will be served daily, PE will be taught daily and the children will have a well-balanced, enriched experience in a small, nurturing group which focuses on their needs.
Next year, Peregrine School will open grades 3-6, with middle school to follow in several years. Start your child's path of life-long learning on the right foot!

Peregrine School is a non-profit private school that strives to integrate the rigorous academics of a classical liberal arts education with child-centered, project-based learning. Arts and sciences, as well as Spanish, are taught daily through projects. Weekly enrichment classes include yoga, dance, music, and drama taught by specialists. Health and nutrition are equally important aspects of the school, which includes daily physical education activities as well as gardens and a nutritious lunch and snack program. Peregrine School is committed to small size classes and very low student-teacher ratios.

Peregrine School was founded in 2007 by Co-Directors, Lorie Hammond, PhD, and Elena Whitcombe, MD. Lorie and Elena are a mother-daughter team.
